Through Thick And Thin

Seven years ago I gave up
peeling like an eel
in firm fat hands.
My skin had grown too thin
for the market place.

Now I have grown new skin
thick, new
scar tissue, tough.

Not tough enough, though.

Come, firm fat hands -
hold me, cut me, watch me peel,
hold me dancing, make me feel,
clutch me, watch me bare once more
my soul.
